For lesbian, gay, bi, and queer women who are considering parenthood.

This content of this course emphasizes insemination with donor sperm and includes some information about adoption.

Explore practical, emotional, social, financial, medical and legal issues related to becoming a parent. Find information, clarify needs and decisions, and build community.

Topics Include:

  • Fertility awareness, insemination procedures and pre-natal care options
  • Everything you ever wanted to ask about sperm
  • Parenting arrangements
  • Adoption 101
  • The Heart Connection: Non-biological and adoptive parenting
  • Legal Issues
  • Self-Advocacy: Building our
  • confidence and our communities
  • What about the kids?

Weekend Course Information

The weekend format is offered to make courses more accessible to people who are outside Toronto. In each weekend session, approximately half of participants are from outside the Greater Toronto Area.

You are encouraged to bring your own lunch, or consider any of the nearby restaurants.


The registration fee for weekend courses is $125 + HST per person

Register online and pay online with a credit card, or pay at The 519 Front Desk. Payment must be received by Wednesday, April 1, 2016 to ensure your space in the class.

A sliding scale is available. Simply register online to hold your space and we will contact you to finalize the amount payable and the payment arrangements.
