The LGBTQ Family Planning Courses are your opportunity to consider parenting through various pathways to parenthood, including adoption, pregnancy and birth, surrogacy, co-parenting, and foster parenting. All the courses are trans-inclusive.
The courses are learner-centred facilitated closed learning groups. As facilitators, our goal is to help you:
- Assess information and resources you already have.
- Determine your needs for more information and resources.
- Find information you need.
- Introduce you to new resources.
- Clarify your needs and decisions.
- Identify next steps.
- Build community through meeting our guest speakers and other participants in the courses.
Topics are explored through presentations, panels, and small group discussions.
The Queer-Positive Pre-Natal Class offered by The 519 is intended for people who are already expecting a newborn.
Registration starts July 1 for fall courses and December 1 for winter and spring courses.
